If I have to choose 2 words to describe 원조두부촌 I would probably choose authentic and cheap. This restaurant offers a real Korean experience in terms of food and atmosphere that cannot be found in many places. The beautiful building, both outside and inside, contributes a lot to create this experience.
About the food
My friend recommended me to try the soups, so I decided to give it a try. If you don’t feel like a soup, the menu is quite big and they also have BBQ.
Here is what I ordered!
Bulgogi beef soup (불고기뚝배기) ₩7,000
All the soups come with rice. The presentation of the rice is gorgeous, served in a hot stone pot covered with a wooden lid.
There are some steps to eat the rice:
1- Frist, serve it in the bowl.
2- Some of the rice will get stuck (I love this part). Poor hot water and take it off with the spoon.
3- In the end you will have a bowl of rice and a rice soup.
The side dishes were very nice, better than in most of other restaurants. I could feel they use fresh ingredients.
Overall, I highly recommended restaurant. They serve well cooked simple dishes with fresh ingredients. The place is gorgeous and the price is very reasonable.
