This hiking allows you to see a very beautiful view of Seoul and the back of Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁). This is a great hike for beginners or people who just want to enjoy a nice view of Seoul and easily get out of the busy city.
Easy level: This hiking is suitable for everyone, including kids. The length is about 2.2 km and it can be done easily in 2 hours walking.
Route: Malbawi Resting Place – Sukjeongmun Gate – Baegangmaru – Changuimun Gate
*IMPORTANT!! You need to bring the passport as it is a military area. In Malbawi Resting Place you need to fill a form and show your passport to get an access card, don´t worry it takes 5 minutes. The reason for this place be a military area is because the president house is just behind the mountain.
Also, you won´t be allowed to take pictures in some areas for security reasons. Actually, I couldn´t take pictures from some of the nicest places so the view is even nicer than what you can see in my pictures.
How to get there
- Anguk Station Exit 2.
- In front of the subway exit you can find a bus stop. Take bus number 02 to Waryong Park (와룡공원)->Find the map below
- From this point you can follow the signs following the route mentioned before. You will hardly get lost and as it is a military area there are some guards that you can ask and they will guide you.
How to get back from the end of the hike
Buses number 1020, 7022 and 7212 will take you back to Anguk Station.
Thanks to Seoul Village Meetup I could discover this place! Really nice guys 🙂
