1. Archery Cafe
There is a cafe for everything in Seoul. The latest trend is the archery cafe. This type of cafe is becoming popular and there are several opening now in Seoul. I was there and it was a lot of fun! A great plan for a rainy day.
Price
They have different prices depending on the length:
- 30 shots ₩10,000
- 1 hour ₩15,000
- 1 day ₩35,000
- 1 month (1 hour per day) ₩120,000
We choose the 1 hour option. The first 10 minutes they will give you all the equipment and explain the basics. The staff was friendly and professional and the material was in good condition.
In one hour, we had time for 4 rounds of 16 shoots each. You have to wait until all the people in your zone finishes their 16 arrows and then collect the arrows all together. This is for obvious safety reasons. If your group is fast and you don’t take many pictures it is possible to do 5 rounds.
How to get there
I believe there are different brands all over Seoul. I was in one called Arrow Factory, they have 4 stores in Seoul. I went to the one located in Hongdae neighbor. You can get there walking 5 minutes from Hapjeong subway station (green line exit 5) or Sangsu (brown line exit 1).
You can visit their website to check the rest of the locations. The website is in Korean but just scrolling down on the homepage you can see the maps with all the locations.
2. Ice Skating
Lotte World Ice Skating Rink is the most popular place in Seoul to practice this sport. It is open every season of the year. Lotte World is a theme park but the entrance is paid separately.
In winter time, they open some other outdoor ice skating facilities. I know there is one in Olympic Park and another one in Seoul Plaza, which is next to City Hall subway station.
Price
This price only includes ice skating (not the theme park) and the skate rental. There is no time limit.

3. Arcade Gaming
Going to an arcade gaming place is a great place to enjoy on a rainy day. Comparing to Europe, where most of these places disappeared a while ago, the choice is limitless in Seoul.
Some of these stores are huge with 3 or 4 floors. There are games for everyone; from the traditional Street Fighter series to dancing, cars, basketball, baseball, shooting, Guitar Hero style games, etc. Find the one you like and enjoy!
Price
Most of the games cost only ₩1,000
4. PC Bang
Another option for hardcore gamers is going to a PC bang (PC 방). In Seoul there is one almost every corner and some of them are open 24 hours. Forget about the PC gaming places in Europe, this is another level.
You can even order food and drinks directly from the PC. Also, they offer really comfortable cinema style seats mixed with super-fast internet connection and huge screens for the best gaming experience. You will understand why Koreans are the top in most of the popular computer games.
