Busan food is amazing and specially the seafood!
The fish and seafood goes directly from the sea to your plate. You can see the seafood moving while being cooked. This is my top 5 best seafood in Busan, plus a bonus dish for people who want to try something else apart from seafood.
Raw fish (회)
Locals love to eat raw fish in front of the sea. Milak Waterside Park (민락수변공원) is a great place to enjoy a great view of the sea and Busan’s skyline with delicious raw fish. There are a few shops in the seafront where you can buy take away raw fish.
Eel
Jagalchi market (자갈치시장) is probably one of the best places to eat this dish. There are two main ways to eat it; with a red sweet and non-spicy sauce (시장 꼼장어) and grilled in the BBQ. Both are delicious, it is a matter of personal preference.

Shells
Shells are amazing in Busan. You can order a set with lots of them with different sizes and tastes. Some of the flavors I ordered were curry, sweet and sour and cheese.
When you finish eating the shells, you can order fried rice with the sauce and with the last shells.
Fish cake
Fish cake is another typical food from Busan. Maybe this isn’t the most popular food among foreigners, to be honest, is not my favorite one either but most of Koreans love it. If you have tried fishcake in Seoul, the one in Busan has much more flavor. It tastes like real fish compared to the one in Seoul, which feels more artificial.
Fish
If you like cooked fish, Busan also have great dishes to offer. In restaurants close to the sea or in Jagalchi market you can find a lot of variety. The restaurant I visited offered a huge variety of high quality side dishes and the fish as the main dish.
Bonus dish: Busan style ddeokbokki
In case you want to have a break from seafood I included a bonus dish. Ddeokbokki is a very tipical food around Korea, which consist of pieces of rice cake, fish cake and boiled egg on a sweet and spicy red sauce.
I have eaten ddeokbokki almost every week in Seoul and when I went to Busan is just next level for me. The biggest difference is probably the sizes of the rice cakes that are thicker. The sauce is a little bit darker and personally I liked more than the one in Seoul. And of course, the fishcake is really fresh and tasty. However, with the spicy sauce is harder to appreciate it.
